明尼苏达大学教授John C. Bischof 、俄亥俄州立大学教授Xiaoming “shawn” He来访

        2017年7月18日上午,应中心徐峰教授邀请,明尼苏达大学机械工程与生物工程系教授John C. Bischof 与 俄亥俄州立大学哥伦布分校教授Xiaoming “shawn” He 来访,并在生命学院作了题为“Nanopartical Heating for Improved Therapeutics, Diagnostics and Regenerative Medicine”的学术报告。报告会在生命学院308会议室举行,仿生工程与生物力学的师生聆听了报告。


        报告中,Bischof老师介绍了光调控金或者磁性纳米颗粒发热在生物医药中的应用,该研究可进一步提高POCT的灵敏度并降低成本。He老师介绍了新型多尺度仿生生物材料对正常与肿瘤干细胞、免疫细胞的影响,在治愈缺血性疾病、免疫反应建模与癌症治疗中有着重要潜在应用。报告的最后,两位老师与中心师生进行了热情互动,细致耐心地回答了多个问题,参加报告的师生均受益匪浅。


报告人介绍:

John C. Bischof is now a Distinguished McKnight University Professor in the Departments of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, the inaugural Carl and Janet Kuhrmeyer Chair in Mechanical Engineering and the Associate Head of the Institute for Engineering in Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Bischof’s area of research is in thermal bioengineering with a focus on focal energy therapy, cryopreservation, diagnostics and nanomedicine.

Xiaoming “shawn” He is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU), Columbus, Ohio. His current research is focused on developing micro and nanoscale biomaterials and devices to engineer totipotent, pluripotent, and multipotent stem cells for tissue regeneration, cancer therapy, and assisted reproduction. His research has been funded with him as the PI by various private foundations and government agencies including American Cancer Society, NSF and NIH.
