On Mar. 5th,
2018, Xingye Cui took his Ph.D. oral defense in the seminar room 301 in School
of Life Science and Technology. His Ph.D. dissertation is entitled “Study of
the Microfluidic Scale Chip for Point-of-Care Testing and Its Application in
Biochemical Analysis”. The defense committee includes five professors. Professor
Zhang Chengxiao and Professor Gao Qiang are from Shaanxi Normal University. Professor
Xu Feng, Professor Chong Daotong and associate Professor Li Fei are from Xi’an
Jiao Tong University. And all of them attended the oral defense. During the
defense, Cui presented his works in terms of research background, contents and
technical routes, results and discussion, findings and acknowledgements. In the end, the committee agreed to
grant Xingye Cui with the doctoral degree.
Dr. Cui joined BEBC in Sep. 2012, his Ph.D. advisor is Prof. Tianjian Lu.
During the Ph.D. study, his research mainly focused on microfluidic device with
visible distance based readouts and their point of care diagnostic
applications. His research work involved several subjects, such as engineering,
fluid mechanics, and analytical chemistry, which could be regarded as a fantastic
job with promising applications. As the first author, he has published three peer
reviewed scientific journal papers. Besides, he also coauthored four issued
patents. Dr. Xingye Cui sets a model for junior students in our center. We’re looking forward to more achievements of
him in future.
