Under
Xiaocong He’s guidance, undergraduate Yuanyuan Yang won the third prize in 2017
National Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Innovation Design Competition(NBEIDC).Her
project“Sensitivity enhancement of
lateral flow assays by using dissoluble
saline barriers” focus on detecting
sensitivity improvement of lateral flow assays (LFA). In the program, they
proposed a novel strategy by using dissoluble saline barriers to improve the
lateral flow assay (LFA) performance. By investigating the effects of various
parameters of dissoluble saline barriers, a 10-fold sensitivity enhancement has
been achieved in detecting HBV virus. This strategy developed a new kind of LFA
based on dissoluble saline barriers in detecting HBV. It will provide available
guidance and application in clinical diagnosis.
Part of Awards List
NBEIDC was organized by Teaching Steering
Committee of Biomedical Engineering Specialty of Ministry of Education annually
from 2014.
The contest concentrates
on biomedical related hot topics such as human health, disease prevention,
diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical imaging, including the
embedded system technology, sensor technology, wireless network technology,
analog circuit and digital circuit technology, medical signal acquisition and
processing technology, digital image processing technology, medical optical
technology, biomedical testing technology biomedical material technology,
biomechanical technology. NBEIDC also aims at the development of innovative
design and application of rehabilitation engineering technology in the field of
biomedical engineering.
