Recently, a grade three pupil, Xuanqiao Wang, designed a "personalized meal box for diabetes" under the guidance of BEBC’s master student, Kai Ling. He is a student from the primary school attached to Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology. This work has won the 17th Xi’an computer creative activity and competition (first prize, primary school group) and the 32nd Xi'an Youth Science and technology innovation contest (third prize).

This personalized meal box was designed to help his diabetic grandfather at first place. Diabetic patients need to control their diet. He determined the standard amount of different kinds of food for diabetic patients every day and designed the meal box according to the weight and required space for vegetables, meat and staples. Then, with the help of BEBC, he has successfully made the meal box by 3D printing and help his grandfather achieve the diet control.

BEBC always stresses the need to link the latest scientific results with the popularization of education, especially focusing on the popularization of science education among primary and secondary students. After years of development, BEBC has formed a mature model of public science popularization activity. At present, a number of science popularization activities have been promoted and held in several primary and secondary schools, which have been widely welcomed by the public and adolescents.
