Dr. Xiaolong Sun started his
independent career from October 2018 as Young Talent A level, in Department of
Life Science and Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University.
From 03.2015 to 09.2018, Dr. Xiaolong
Sun experienced as a postdoc research fellow in The University of Texas at
Austin, USA, working with Prof. Eric V. Anslyn (Associate Editor for JACS for
20 years) and Prof. Andrew Ellington; From 09.2012 to 02.2015, Dr. Xiaolong Sun
pursued his PhD in University of Bath, United Kingdom, supervising by Prof.
Tony D. James and Prof. Steven Bull; From 09.2009 to 02.2012, he obtained his
Master Degree from East China University of Science and Technology, working for
Prof. Xuhong Qian (Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of East
China Normal University).
His research interests include
organic synthesis to prepare small molecules that can be utilized to understand
and exploit biological/environmental systems, mainly in the fluorescent
detection of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, carbohydrates such as
monosaccharides, auto-inductive cascades for the detection of nerve agents and
combination of small molecular fluorescent probe with supporting materials,
such as graphene oxide, porous silicon material, hydrogel, etc. Dr. Xiaolong
Sun has published more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers, including Chem. Rev., ACS Cent. Sci., J. Am. Chem.
Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Sci., etc. The work published in ACS. Cent. Sci. was highlighted and
reported in more than 100 international and local medias, such as The Times, EurekAlert,
New Atlas, etc. While, the work exploring mechanism of fluorescent detection of
glucose in JACS was selected as Spotlights on Recent JACS Publications.
