On Nov. 22nd, 2017, Han Liu took her Ph.D. oral defense in the seminar room 301 in School of Life Science and Technology. Her Ph.D. thesis is entitled “Biophysical Defense Mechanisms of Plant Trichome and Their Biomimetic Applications”. The defense committee includes five professors. Professor Zhou Jinxiong, Professer Zhang Jianbao and associate Professer Li Fei are from Xi’an Jiao Tong University. Professer He Junmin is from Shaanxi Normal University. Professer Lu Tingli is from Northwestern Polytechnical University. And all of them attended the oral defense. During the defense, Liu presented her works in terms of project background, focus-point, conclusion and outlook, findings and acknowledgements. In the end , the committee agreed to grant Han Liu with the doctoral degree.

Dr. Han Liu joined BEBC in Mar. 2014 whose supervisor is Prof. Feng Xu. During her study, main research works was about plant trichomes and their biomimetic applications. Her research works involved several subjects, including botany, biomechanics, biomedicine engineering and so on, which could be regarded as a very excellent job. As the first author, she has published three peer reviewed scientific journal papers and all of them were selected as cover articles.
