Recently,
Ph.D. student Dong Yuqing from BEBC has published his first author research in Acta Biomateriliaentitled
"Non-Invasive Tracking of Hydrogel Degradation Using
Upconversion Nanoparticles ".
In
this article, the upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) are physical mixed into
hydrogel network which endows the hydrogel unique upconversion fluorescence
property. The in vitro experiments of
tracking hydrogel degradation by both gravimetric method and fluorescent imaging technique are demonstrated to testify the feasibility of fluorescence tracking hydrogel
degradation. Then the long-term in vivo tracking of hydrogel degradation is realized by fluorescent imaging technique
which provides an alternative method for in
vivo non-invasive tracking of hydrogel degradation.
Yuqing
said, “This paper is the represent of BEBC’s advanced level of research. And
it’s the collaboration of the center. Thanks for the BEBC and the help of all
co-authors. We all witnessed that our BEBC has kept growing and become stronger.
I hope everyone will make progress and keep breaking his/her own limits”.The
co-authors of the paper include Guorui Jin, Changchun Ji, Rongyan He, Min Lin,
Xin Zhao, Prof. T. J. Lu, and Prof. Feng Xu.
