Recently, Jane Ru Choi and Yong Kar Wey passed their defending for doctoral thesis successfully and got their Ph.D from UniversityofMalaysia. Their Ph.D. thesis titled “Development of Paper-based Biosensors for Point-of-care Nucleic Acid Testing” and “Effects of Cryopreservation Conditions on Human Adipose-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells and Its Potential Application in Cardiac Fibrosis”.
Jane Ru Choi and Yong Kar Wey are joint training doctoral students University of Malaya and BEBC of xi’an Jiao Tong University. Jane Ru Choi received her B.Sc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Science from The National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2012 and M.S. degree in Science from UniversityofMalaya(UM) in 2014. From 2014 to 2016 she pursued her Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Feng Xu and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Belinda. Her research focuses on paper-based point-of-care diagnostics. Yong Kar Wey was born inMalaysia. He graduated with bachelor degree of Biomedical Science in National University of Malaysia. From 2014 to 2016, he pursued his PhD degree inUniversityofMalayaand his research is mainly focused on cell microenvironment. He has been completed some research projects related to hydrogels in BEBC under supervision of Prof. Feng Xu.
